The metal tolerance ability of the fungal isolates for metals such as arsenic, cadmium, copper and lead was determined by sensitivity on MEA media spiked each metal. The concentration of metals was 10, 50, 300 and 400 ppm of the cadmium, arsenic, copper and lead, respectively, referred to soil contamination warning & countermeasure standards in Korea Ministry of Environment. Fungi inoculated on each metal media were at room temperature. Each day, their colony diameters were investigated, and metal tolerance was determined by the percentage of growth rate (%GR).

It was expressed as ★★★★★ (100 ≥ % GR > 90), ★★★★☆ (90 ≥ % GR > 70), ★★★☆☆ (70 ≥ % GR > 50), ★★☆☆☆ (50 ≥ % GR > 30), ★☆☆☆☆ (30 ≥ % GR > 0), and ☆☆☆☆☆ (no resistance).
