halogenated Dioxin / dioxin - like compounds 는 종이를 만드는 과정에서 나오는 폐수 , 물질을 태우는 과정 등 으로 인해 만들어지는 물질로 , 2개의 산소 원자가 2개의 벤젠고리를 연결하며,염소가 결합되어 있는 방향족 화합물이다 . 화학적으로 안정하고 소수성의 물질로 매우 독성의 물질이다 . poly-cholorinated dibenzo- p - dioxin(PCDD)류 , polychlorinated dibienzofurans(PCDF),polychorinated diphenyl ethers(PCDE)등이 있다 .
